Answers

Microdosing questions

The questions patients actually ask about this program, answered by the clinical team behind it.

Microdosing uses lower, subtherapeutic doses of compounded semaglutide (a GLP-1) or tirzepatide (a GLP-1/GIP), taken as a weekly injection. The goal is day-to-day support for energy, metabolic balance and mental clarity rather than weight loss as the primary outcome.
Different goal, not just a smaller number. Standard dosing is built around weight as the primary outcome and titrates upward. Microdosing holds a low, steady weekly dose to support energy, focus and metabolic function. Many women also find the lower dose easier on the stomach.
Medical Weight Loss treats weight as the outcome and uses standard titration. Microdosing uses a low, steady dose of the same molecules to support energy, focus, muscle preservation and metabolic function. Your clinician can move you between the two as your goals change.
As a weekly injection, of semaglutide or tirzepatide. Your clinician recommends the one that fits your goals and your history.
A compounded GLP-1 is a custom preparation made by an independent licensed pharmacy against a clinician's prescription for one specific patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. See our Compounded Medication Disclosure.
Mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, constipation or reduced appetite, most often early on. They are frequently temporary and reported less at microdosing levels than at standard doses. Tell your clinician about anything that concerns you.
Emerging research is exploring GLP-1 effects on cardiovascular health, inflammation, cognition and liver function. That research is ongoing and unsettled, and compounded microdose formulations specifically have not been studied for those outcomes. We will not tell you otherwise.
You do not have to decide alone. Both are offered at the same low weekly dose and the same price. Start the intake and your clinician recommends the one that fits your history.
