Why Don’t I Feel Like Myself Anymore?

Understanding the hormonal and physiological changes that can begin after 35

Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 12pm ET

What actually starts changing, and when

The hormonal shifts that can begin in your late 30s, years before anyone uses the word menopause, and why the timeline surprises almost everyone.

Why perimenopause is so hard to recognize

It rarely announces itself. We walk through how it actually presents, and why it gets mistaken for stress, burnout or aging.

Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone

What each one does, what happens as they shift, and how that shows up in mood, sleep, energy, libido and where your body stores weight.

Why not everything is hormones

Thyroid, iron, sleep debt and stress produce overlapping symptoms. Blaming hormones for all of it leads to the wrong fix.

The idea

You are not failing at this.

Women are surrounded by conflicting advice about hormones, weight, sleep, supplements, food and exercise. The result is usually more effort, more restriction and more frustration, without ever getting a clear picture of what your body actually needs.

When none of it works, the conclusion tends to be I must not be disciplined enough. That conclusion is almost always wrong, and it is why so many women quietly give up on their own health.

  • Start with understanding. What is changing, and what actually matters.
  • Remove the complexity. Most advice aimed at you is noise.
  • Build around your real life, not an ideal one you do not have.
  • Use medical care thoughtfully, when it genuinely helps and not before.

These sessions are general health education, not medical advice, and attending does not create a clinician-patient relationship. Nothing presented is a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation for you specifically.
